Pause&Effects Rio - Germanium Treble Booster

B-STOCK option had a chip in the paint at the DC socket. I put an extra washer there to hide the chip. See pictures.

Germanium treble to full frequency booster.

The controls:

- Boost: the amount of boost from low to full

- Range: Clockwise acts like a Treble Booster. Anti clockwise acts like a full frequency booster

NOS Germanium transistor, Tungsram OC1044 (like OC44) or OC44K based on availability. Actual available transistor options are shown in the drop down list.

This model features hand wired Tagboard construction.

Aluminum 125B size die-cast box. True bypass. Operates on center negative 9V power supply or 9V battery. THIS IS A POSITIVE GROUND CIRCUIT SO PLEASE USE ISOLATED POWER SUPPLY. Hand built in Hungary (European Union).

The pedal has the letter Rho on it for Rangemaster, the original treble booster from the sixties. The name of the pedal refers to the Rio-Antirio bridge in Greece that connects the Peloponnese (Rio is the name of the town on the Peloponnese side of the bridge) to the main land. The bridge is a prime example of good engineering: practical yet also beautiful. I hope that my pedal will also be appreciated both as a practical tool and a beautiful object.
