Pause&Effects Fotia - Germanium Fuzz Face
No tax statement according to the small business regulation
Germanium fuzz (Fuzz Face)
- incl. taxes
- Weight:
Germanium fuzz based on the Fuzz Face circuit with added bias control.
The controls:
- Level: the output level
- Attack: the amount of fuzz
- Bias: bias control for the transistors. Ideal bias is around 12 o'clock. Fully clockwise produces a "gating" effekt (the intensity varies with the temperature!), fully anti-clockwise produces a more open sound.
- Internal input level trimmer (only on PCB version): by default almost at full. Anti-clockwise the input level is reduced like rolling back the guitar volume on the guitar itself. If the pedal is too "woofy" then reduce the level. Default setting filters out unwanted radio signal interference. If this is not an issue, level may be increased to maximum.
Matched NOS germanium transistors based on availability. Actual available transistor options are shown in the drop down list. If you are looking for specific transistor models for your pedal, please contact me! Transistors used in this pedal so far: Tungsram GC301TD or AC128.
This model by default features a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) construction. Hand wired Tagboard construction is available by request or if specifically noted in the drop down list.
Aluminum 125B size die-cast box. True bypass. Operates on center negative 9V power supply or 9V battery. THIS IS A POSITIVE GROUND CIRCUIT SO PLEASE USE ISOLATED POWER SUPPLY. Hand built in Hungary (European Union).

The pedal has the Greek letter Phi (or Fi) on it. The name of the pedal comes from the Greek word φωτιά (fotia) which means fire. The name is a reference to the color of the pedal and also the most famous user of this type of pedal Jimi Hendrix and his song Fire.
